Terri Schiavo
Unlike most of us, The parents of Terri Schiavo spent their Easter bedside with their ailing daughter in a Florida Hospice. Why? Because for more than a week Terri Schiavo has been off a Feeding Tube which gave her daily nutrition for 15 years. Apparently, she is in a "Persistant vegitative State" but the only things she can't do are swallow and form words. Her husband is to blame. Terri Schiavo's "husband", if you want to call him that, has a fiancee and two children by his new woman. So why is he the legal guardian of Terri Schiavo? Should the legal guardian of someone in her condition care about the person they have control over? It is obvious Michael Schiavo does not.
He is an ego-centric mad man who only wants his wife dead so he can marry his new found partner because technically, he is sitll married to Terri. You can't deny it.
He denied her therapy that could have betetred her condition. He has even been quoted as saying "When Is That Bitch Going To Die?". I can answer that for you Michael...SOON.
Despite the efforts of Terri's birth family, none of the Federal or State Courts will give her her tube back. Terri Schiavo is hanging on by a thread and is fighting to stay alive. She wants to live contrary to the claims her "husband" makes. She has even said "AHH Waa" hinting at "I Want To Live." That was taken to Judge George Greer who ordered the tube out and still he denied her the tube because of a legal technicality. Who the Hell Cares? THIS IS A PERSON'S LIFE!! If a Criminal was on trial and new evidence came up that could clear him, would a court not examine it and release them? Yes they would. This woman is innocent. She has comitted no crime. If this is how America is becoming, we need to change and change quick before we are killing a baby before it is born without a leg. Or killing a mom who is blind. This is ridiculous and I hope that Terri Schiavo's story will open the eyes of all Americans and change how things are done Judicially.

Terri hasn't had meaningful therapy since 1991, but many credible physicians say she can benefit from it.
Why can't Terri just divorce?

It's really easy to start pointing fingers and say things like that when we have a particular feeling reagrding a specific situation. You are saying things that are not necessarily true and really depend from the angle you use to look at them. Michael Schiavo is not the bad guy you are making him out to be. Unless you put yourself in his shoes for 1 second you can't possibly see how difficult this must be for him too.
The American judicial system regarding this issue is for once being fair. I don't think that any court should dictate the quality of life you should have if it ever came to this.
As for the tube, I think that it's withdrawal was a mistake. Even criminals get put to sleep. I would have done that for her.

I know it ended this morning, and actually, I am happy. Nobody deserves to die that kind of death or live that kind of life. I think she is better now and hopefully in a better place. Now she will have peace.
